"I'm going to give this product 4 stars even though this is my first day of trying this product. I love Alpha Hydrox's products. I use their Foaming Face Wash which is Soap-free, Fragrance-free, pH balanced, Alcohol -free, and Oil-Free. I also use their Oil-Free Treatment with 10% AHA Glycolic Acid. I recently added the AHA Souffle 12% into my regimen and from using the Oil-Free Treatment, which I have only been on for 3 days, I can tell that I am going to be loving this as well. Alpha Hydrox makes some wonderful products and I will be a true customer until the day I no longer need help with my problem skin. I think I'm going to alternate the Oil-Free Treatment and the AHA Souffle. One for the morning and one for the evening. Remember to moisturize as well. It's also a good idea to have a healthy diet to help promote healthy skin. Blueberry tea, green tea, plums, and strawberries are a great source of antioxidants. It's summer, so enjoy some cold tea and fruit. This stuff is great!"

"I've been using this product for just under two years, and in combination with other products (Basis Sensitive Skin Bar, BC, BP gel) this has really helped to clear up my acne-prone skin. I used to have a lot of tiny clogged pores in addition to a couple of larger pimples and/or cysts at any one time - while I do still get the occasional hormonal pimple, I credit this product with getting rid of the small, hard clogged pores on my cheeks and thus really evening out my skin's texture. "I wanted to wait longer before reviewing this, but it's worked so quickly and so WELL that i don't think it's necessary. after flaking off on my birth control for a while, i started to break out- painful cystic grossness that i'd never had before. not only this, but some itchy, bumpy red rash of unknown origin showed up on one side of my face at the same time. awesome, right? i was totally bummed because it was not even a week before christmas blah blah what the heck, right? so my sister offered to let me use this stuff she'd bought because she felt pretty bad for me i guess. i've used aha products before of a lesser % in pad form for about a year so i knew the drill. it strings a bit upon initial application, but it goes away in a minute or two.

"I don't know why this product doesn't get more press. It's totally affordable and IT WORKS. This stuff will clear up acne, smooth out roughness, and leave you glowing. It is very strong, so use it sparingly in the beginning and always apply moisturizer on top. If you have a lot of sun damage or acne scarring this stuff can make a huge difference with your discoloration.
After awhile, however, you'll find that you don't need to use it as much. Now I only use about once every two weeks. If you don't have any skin problems, you don't need something this strong. I purchased it because of some old acne scars I wanted to clear up and it definitely got the job done."

"I used this way back in the day when AHAs were the new big thing. I stopped probably as a result of cost, availability and wondering what putting cream on my face was doing to my acne. This was back in 1991/1992 or so when I was first married, we didn't have a lot of money, and there weren't a lot of resources out there to find out about what to use for skincare besides magazines, other women & the she-devils at the cosmetic counters at Dillard's.

Anyway, I didn't pick it back up until about 6 weeks ago, and boy I could kick myself for not giving this stuff a fighting chance years ago. It really helped with blackheads and cysts, as well as reversing the beginnings of fine crow's feet on my right eye, made spots fade... it's hard to believe this is my skin. One jar looks like about a 3 month supply, so one purchase will be enough for you to decide if it's for you or not.

If you're acne prone and wary of putting a cream on your face, this is not greasy and in fact will leave you with a tight feeling after a week or two-- not really dry though. I've been on Tazorac, which is much more harsh than this & doesn't give me the results. I'm using this along with tepezcouhite soap. I lather up, let the soap sit for 5 minutes or so, rinse and let my face dry a bit.

 Then I put on eye cream & then the 12% souffle. I don't put on a thick coating. I spread it out & massage it in until I don't see any white streaks. If it's streaking on you, you're using too much. I've seen in the other reviews for this that it has caused some to break out in stubborn cysts.

I think proper use of a good anti-bacterial cleanser might be a good idea if this is a concern. The only reason I wouldn't buy it again is that I want to use a strnger daily AHA product & have moved on to Makeup Artist's Choice Gly-Luronic Acid Serum. This is definitely worth a try for just about everyone."

"I LOVE AHA Souffle. I found this product on Makeupalley about a year ago and just realized I'd bought my fourth jar - so I figured it might be time for a review.

I had terrible acne for three years and underwent all imaginable treatments with Dr. Dennis Gross, the creator of the MD Skincare line sold at Sephora. I tried Accutane, antibiotics, Tazorac, Climadycin, monthly chemical peels, Alpha Beta Daily Face Peels, even laser treatments to get rid of scars, as well as frequent extractions and cortisone injections. Basically, none of them worked - if they did it only worked partially or temporarily.

This past year, things have really cleared up. I hate to admit how much my self-confidence relied on the condition of my skin, but I feel gorgeous - when your skin looks the way mine does now, everything else just looks better! Part of this has been the miracle of Dan Kern's regimen, which is basically to slather 2% Benzoyl Peroxide all over the face. But part of this has also been AHA Souffle.

On days without Souffle, my skin misses that beautiful, even-textured glow. It's hard to precisely explain the effects of this product, but it makes your skin look healthier - glowy like a baby's. It's basically a chemical exfoliator that does everything those manual exfoliators promised but never delivered to me.

I'm totally acne-free except for the one monthly hormonal pimple right before my period. My skin seems to just get better with time, and two months ago I noticed my pimple was tiny and this last month I didn't get one at all. I don't know what to thank. Basically, this is my regimen:

Morning: Cleanse with Dan Kern's cleanser (super-gentle), apply a layer of AHA Souffle (not too picky about how, I just slap on a thin layer all over), wait around ten minutes (turn on the news, make coffee), apply a sparing layer of moisturizer (Kose Moisture Mild Cream). I usually wait thirty minutes before I apply makeup and basically wipe off all the residue on my face by applying foundation, but that's because I'm a morning person and like to eat breakfast then. I like to think I'm letting the stuff sink in, but I don't know if it really matters.

Night: Take off eye makeup with any old stuff I have lying around, cleanse with makeup-removing cleanser before I shower, cleanse gently with Dan Kern's cleanser right before I get out of the shower (to get any shampoo/conditioner/whatever might have gotten on my face during the shower), apply eye cream, apply a layer of Dan Kern's 2% benzoyl peroxide all over. No moisturizer.

As you can see, I only use AHA Souffle once a day, but I do it religiously. My skin has never looked this good. It's around $18 with tax (in NYC) for a jar that lasts about three months, which is totally worth it to me. I don't have any sensitivity problems with this, though my skin doesn't typically have those issues. It can sting a tiny bit if your skin's really dry for some reason, but that's really rare for me. I don't know how I could drive in the benefit of this product any further. Just get it, try it, love it. "

"I tried this product because of the great reviews, and it also works well for me.
I have been using this product for a week or so for both AM and PM, and I have noticed a big different on my face. During the past year I have faced a problem with acne. I've tried many products, but none of them seemed to help my skin drastically. Until I use this one, my skin is much better than before. It's the face that I've lost for a year.

I still have 2 bumps on my cheeks, but they can be hided under makeup. (Hopefully these bumps will go away soon, and if they will, I'll update my review here.)

One warning though, similar to other reviews, when I first applied it, it was very irritating. So, it may not be a good product for sensitive skin. But, if you think you can bear with the irritation (which occurs only in the first week of use), I would strongly recommend the product. It really helps improving my skin texture.

UPDATE: After using it for almost 3 weeks, the itchiness still exists especially when I have open pores. But the results are so great that I don't mind bearing with a few minutes of itchiness. I don't have bad acne anymore. Now I have a few very tiny whiteheads and a few acne scars (cuz I can't resist to pick my pimples). But, overall, this cream has a great effect on my face.

"Well reaching a milestone birthday in Feb,(60-how did THAT happen!) I decieded that I had to find something that would work and never mind the hype, fancy packaging and above all, ridiculous prices.

I found this dandy little cream by reading what Paula Begoun had to say about it in her news letter. Sooo, 3 jars later and I am loving it. It works, just as simple as that. My skin is really good for my age and I want to keep it that way till I'm way too old to care. It may sting alittle bit sometimes, depends on how hard I scrubbed. The smoothness is nothing I have experienced with any fancier creams and you can use it daily if your skin isn't too sensitive.

My skin responds to it very well, I use it at night with a basic night cream over it. Keep away from the eyes, they mean it when they say that. I thought I would try just a dab, boy was I ever sorry. I had a week of flaky skin to contend with and using eye cream a couple times a day to relieve it. I alternate it with the Night ResQ and I couldn't be more pleased. "After all these years, I was convinced that there was no such thing as hope in a jar, a miracle product, well this stuff proved me wrong, it is the real deal. The only thing is, you have to get your skin used to it, the stinging a bit is normal and some people have to go thru a purging process, but I guarantee its all worth it cause you'll have a complexion that you will marvel at everyday.

I bought this product after reading the reviews, the 1st thing I noticed is how it makes the skin very, very soft and smooth (like baby's skin). Then I noticed that my skin (which has pink/red undertones) became even in tone, no more red face, I still have some pink but it looks like I have base on (that's covering up the high coloring I used to have). I used to never leave the house w/out base on, but now, I just dab some Oil of Olay SPF 15 lotion on and that's all I need, my skin looks better now w/out foundation, this product makes it look : plumped up. well hydrated, even in tone, smooth, acne free, and glowing w/ good health (regardless of what I eat or how much water I drink). The only lines I have ever had on my face were 2 little ones between by brows, but this stuff has softened them to the point where I barely notice them.

I was so shocked by the results of AHA souffle, I couldn't help myself in going back to the store to buy more related products, so I got the AHA cleanser (the one w/ the red beads in it), and I also use my 12% Glycolic acid toner (DDF), I don't know if all these great results are just from 1 or all 3 products used together, but this will be my skin staple for life.
Its absolutely essential that you use this stuff daily 2x, skipping will prolong the good effects, just stick w/ it, you'll be amazed!"

The products in conjunction, however, are working wonderfully for me. If I could change something about it - I would prefer a version with sunblock and one without. "Wonderful product! I am in my mid-30s but still have combination skin and I have to be careful with mositurizer or I will break out. I swear this product makes my skin look better even if I wear it with no makeup. It's light and not too greasy so it is perfect under liquid foundation makeup. Richer moisturizers make my foundation slide around and then I have to reapply after lunch, but I can strike just the right balance with this product. I use it frequently, and I make sure to use it on my neck since it has sunscreen and I don't want to have a crepey neck when I am 50."
